Arthur Savells
BENTON, Ky.--Services for Arthur O. Savells, 85, of Benton will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Collier Funeral Home in Benton. The Revs. Heyward Roberts and Elijah Balentine will officiate. Burial will be in Ferguson Springs Cemetery in Benton.
Mr. Savells died at 10:34 p.m. Tuesday at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Savells saw action in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Lodge in Benton.
A retired pipefitter, he was a member of Pipefitters Union Local 155 of Little Rock, Ark., and was a 55-year member of Alford Masonic Lodge in Aurora. He was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Oma Jean Savells; two sons, Anthony Savells of Mayfield and Jerry Savells of Gallatin, Tenn.; two sisters, Clovis Baker of Murray and Audrey Robinson of Monterey Park, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother. His parents were George Savells and Cora Joyce Savells.
