Funeral services for Mrs. Marie Holmes Rodgers of Duck Hill are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, at Duck Hill Baptist Church in Duck Hill, with burial following in Duck Hill Cemetery in Duck Hill. Rev. Chas Rowland and Bro. Keith Harris will officiate the services. Visitation will be Saturday, May 3, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., at Duck Hill Baptist Church.
Mrs. Rodgers died from complications following a stroke on Wednesday, April 30, at Grenada Living Center in Grenada. She was 91 years old.
Mrs. Rodgers was the daughter of the late Tom and Leona Sykes Holmes, and the widow of the late Vance Allen Rodgers. She was a homemaker and a member of Duck Hill Baptist Church and its Faith Sunday School Class.
Survivors include two sons, Gary A. Rodgers of Panama City, Florida, and Thomas H. Rodgers of Duck Hill; a sister, Nancy Kirk of Duck Hill; two brothers, Gillon Holmes of Potts Camp and Charles Holmes of Duck Hill; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Taylor Rodgers, Austin Rodgers, Roger Waters, Tim Owens, and Gary Kirk Jr.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Duck Hill Baptist Church Building Fund.
