Jack Holmes, 85, of Kilmichael, died of heart failure Sunday, August 23, 1998, at Kilmichael Hospital.
Mr. Holmes was a member of Duck Hill Baptist Church and a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He was the married to the late Hadie Marie Henson Holmes and was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Thomas Holmes. Mr. Holmes was a retired Montgomery County Beat 5 Road Patrol.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, August 24th, at Oliver Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Latham officiating. Burial was in Friendship Cemetery.
Mr. Holmes is survived by two sisters, Marie Holmes Rodgers and Nancy Holmes Kirk, both of Duck Hill; two brothers, GilIon Holmes of Potts Camp, Charles Holmes of Duck Hill and a host of nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers were Paul Cummings, DeLynn Cummings, Bill Cummings, Lenis Pearson, Keith Collier, and Leon Ellis.
Honorary pallbearers were Jarvis Cummings, Milton Brister and Hayden Herring.
Oliver Funeral Home of Winona was in charge of arrangements.
