Son of Sarah Keane or Kane and Thomas Bedford.


Place of birth per 1901 and 1911 England and Wales Censuses, both of which specify Denaby Main. Family was resident Conisbrough (3 km SE of Denaby Main) in 1901 and Rotherham (12 km SW) in 1911. However, marriage certificate says b Castleford, 30 km north of Denaby Main.


Sarah, Thomas and their seven children arrived in Quebec City Jul 1913 aboard the SS Tunisian. Their destination was Cape Breton NS. However, they were resident in Saint John by 1917 when Thomas Jr died and were enumerated there in 1921.


Cyril married Gladys Martha Whelpley 21 Sep 1925 Saint John. He was resident in Boston MA and a mechanic by occupation at the time of marriage.


Cyril and Gladys were resident in Saint John 1931. Cyril was a sales manager for CFBC 1949-1957.


Residence at time of death = 234 King Street East. Died of carcinomatosis related to carcinoma of lung.
