OGDEN--Funeral services for William James Herrick 93, native of Ogden, who died Friday morning at the home of a daughter and son-in-law Mr and Mrs Meacham, 1533 Washington Blvd, of causes incident to age was conducted Monday at 3:30 p.m. at the Linquist and Sons Funeral Chapel.
Bishop Fred M. Carrall of the Tenth Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, officiated.
Burial was in the Ogden Cemetery.
Mr Herrick was born Dec 28, 1855 in Ogden, a son of Nelson and Harriet Helen Sprague Herrick. No Nov 29, 1875 he was married to Emma Jane Wright. She died in Ogden, May 8, 1939.
Mr Herrick had resided with Mr and Mrs Meacham several years. In previous years he had followed farming in Weber County and remained a resident of the county throughout his life except for a brief period spent in Star Valley.
He was a member of the elders quorum of the Tenth Ward, Ogden.
Surviving are five sons, Joseph W., Earl D. and Clinton W. Herrick Ogden; Aroet Herrick Gooding, Idaho; two daughters Mrs Olive Heap, Scotts Bluff, Ariz.; and Mrs Bessie Meacham, Ogden; 53 grandchildren and 175 great grandchildren and 25 great-great-grandchildren.
