A memorial service will be conducted Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 4:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Brown officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday, January 17, 2019 from 3:00 – 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Born June 12, 1946 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Robert A. Woody, Jr. and the late Kate Rieves Woody. Being the first in her family to reach this accomplishment, Miss Woody earned her Master's degree from Middle Tennessee State University. She taught 8th Grade Tennessee History at Whitthorne Middle School for several years; and her students remember her fondly as a distributor of "Woody Goodies". A very knowledgeable trivia player, she was a member of a first-place team at Truelove's Pizza. Miss Woody enjoyed travel, crafts, and The Arts. She was a kind and caring person who always put others needs above her own. She was a member of First Family Baptist Church.
Miss Woody is survived by her brother, James Ross (Marsha) Woody of West Chester, Ohio; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Bob Woody and Ronnie Woody.
Honorary pallbearers will include retired and current faculty and staff of Maury County Schools
