Edith (Friberg) Rudziak, 85, died peacefully at home in her sleep, January 6, 2011.

She leaves her four children, Gregory Rudziak of Palmerton, PA, Jeffrey Rudziak of Sandwich, Christina (Rudziak) Babineau of Fitchburg, and Mark Rudziak of Westminster.

She is predeceased by a son, Erik Rudziak who was killed in Vietnam in 1969. Her husband, Col. Nicholas D. Rudziak died in 1981.

Edith traveled the world extensively in the course of Nick's military duties. Everyone who met Edith commented on her wit, intelligence, and charm. Her family will remember her that way also.

RUDZIAK -- Per Edith's wishes, she will be cremated and her remains will be spread in locations dearest to her heart. Also per her request, there will be no Funeral or remembrance services.

Edith was a prolific reader and her family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations in her honor be made to your favorite book or literacy-related charity.
