Mrs. Elizabeth Elwell Dies Thursday Night
Mrs. Elizabeth Agnes Elwell, widow of Frederick S. Elwell, who had spent most of her life in Bennington, died Thursday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jerome J. Pellerin of Rutland, where she had made her home for the past two years.
Born June 25, 1898 in White Creek, N.Y., she was the daughter of Walter and Catherine Woodward.
Besides her daughter in Rutland, she leaves two brothers, Walter Woodward of New York and John Woodward of Bennington; one aunt, Mrs. Nora Alexander of Pittsfield, Mass.; two grandchildren, Eva Beth and Jerome Walter Pellerin of Rutland.
The body has been transferred to Walbridge Funeral Home, where a prayer will be offered Monday morning at 8:30, followed by a requiem Mass at St. Francis de Sales Church at 9 o'clock. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery.
****NOTE: The obituary was transcribed as published, it does have errors. Her husband Fred S. Elwell was actually still alive. She died at Waterbury State Hospital, not in Rutland.
