Elisha Baker is found in the 1850 census of Monroe County Missouri, age 50 living with his presumed mother Phoebe Baker age 69. With him also is his wife Nancy and 2 children, Susan age 7 and Charlotte age 1. Elisha had married Nancy Bradly on February 13, 1848 also in Monroe Co. Mother Phoebe Collins had married Andrew Baker in Henry County in 1802. Elisha is also consistent with the 1810 Census in Henry County of Andrew Baker's family where one boy was listed over 10. He undoubtably was raised by Andrew and Phoebe. Was Phoebe his mother or was he from another of the Bowling Baker family?
By the 1860 Census Susan is still in the home while Charlotte's name has changed to Mary and 3 other children added: Clay 9, Eliza and Laura. Phoebe is no longer in the home. Elisha's date of death is estimated as he cannot be found in 1870.
Elisha is described as Master Cabinet Maker.
