Andrew Baker, who was born on Feb. 18, 1777.
He was six year old when the Revolutionary war was officially ended, and was approximately 14 years old when George Washington was elected the first president of this new country, called The United States of America and consisting of only 13 states.
Both his father and his uncle had served in the army during the war.

When Andrew was in his early twenties he married a young woman, Jane (her maiden name is unknown) who was approximately 5 years younger than he.
They lived on a farm in Lee County, VA near his family. Their 1st child, William was born in 1801.
They were blessed with a large family of 15 children over the next 24 years.
They had four boys: William, John, Joseph, and Soloman, and eleven girls: Nancy, Elizabeth, Rebecca, Didania, Polly, Lucy, Patsy, Casanara, Jane, Evaline, and Manervia
(see the genealogy section of this Web site).

Andrew died in 1840 at the age of 63 and Jane in 1862 at the age of 80.
She was certainly of the hardy pioneer stock, after bearing 15 children under frontier conditions, she outlived her husband by 17 years.

*Andrew Hamilton Phipps married Lucinda Evans of Clear Creek in Bell co.
They had two daughters who are Margaret Phipps (married Millard Buchanan Fuson) and Sarah Phipps (married J.A. Aldridge).
If he married Elizabeth Osborne first have no knowledge of it. A
fter the death of Andrew Hamilton Phipps Lucinda Evans married his brother Henry Phipps.

*Henry Phipps married Lucinda Evans.
Their children are Didaima "Damy" Phipps (married Frank Hendrickson); Millie Phipps (married Columbus Wilson); Johnson "John" Gillis Phipps (married Martha J. Hendrickson, Mary Baker, Elizabeth Gambrel, and Tilda Greene); Robert "Little Robin" Phipps (married Mary Cox); and Henry "Frank" Frank Phipps (married Mary Eliza Rice). After the death of Lucinda Evans Henry Phipps married Mahala Frances Ward, and they had four children.
After the death of Henry Phipps Mahala Frances Ward moved with her four children to Middletown, Butler co, OH.

*China Ann Hendrickson is the first child of Elisha Hendrickson and Didaima Baker (Phipps).
Elisha Hendrickson's parents are Joshua Hendrickson and Nancy Ann Wilson, and his grandparents are Ezekiel and Jemima Hendrickson.

Malinda Hendrickson, another daughter of Elisha Hendrickson and Didaima Baker married Rev. Robert (Robin) G. Evans, who is a brother to Lucinda Evans who is mentioned above.

*Solomon Baker, a brother to Andrew Baker who married China Ann Hendrickson, married Calvina Caroline Woolum.

These Bakers, Hendricksons, and Phipps families lived at Clear Creek in Pineville, and many of their descendants are still living there, of course.
