Elijah and Avis had a daughter Avis born at Glocester on February 22, 1777. Avis (Mitchell) Sprague died February 26, 1777 due to complications of Avis's birth. Elijah remarried Anna Bartlett (Anna and Avis Mitchell may have been related?) in or about 1799. Record from the "History of North Adams" states that on May 13, 1793 at North Adams, Elijah along with Humphrey Tiffany and Phillip Mason were appointed a committee "to prosecute and obtain the town's property in lands granted to the original proprietors for schools and ministerial purposes."
