A retired city employee, Evertte E. Pittman of 2821 salado Street, was pronounced dead on arrival at St.David's Hospital Monday morning.
Detective Ed Tramp said Pittman, 69, was rushed to the hospital from his home by ambulance after suffering an apparent heart attach. He was dead on arrival.
Pittman was a power plant engineer with the city from 1957 until his retirement early this year."

"Everette E Pittman, 70, died Monday at the family residence, 2821 Salado. He was associated as a civil engineer with the State Highway Department for 37 years, and with the City of Austin for five years before his retirement in January, 1962.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church; the Masonic Lodge at Fairfield; the Shrine; Texas Society of Professional Engineers; Knife and Fork Club, and the Texas Public Employees Association. Pittman was a veteran of World War I and attended the University of Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Hattie Clinger Pittman, Austin; a son, E. E. Pittman, Jr. Fredericksburg; a daughter, Mrs. Doris P. Etheridge, Austin; four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Weed-Corley Funeral Home Wednesday at 4 p.m. Dr. Madison Scott will officiate and burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ed Page, John D. Miller, Dr. C. M. Cleveland, Dewey Dalrymple,Grady Molpus, P.S. Mangum, George Chaney, Percy Pennybacker, Pat Daugherty, Ray Saunders and Karl Schimdt."
He was buried in Oakwood Cem. Annex.
