Mrs. Mary Ann Simmons wife of A. J. Simmons died Wednesday the 17th, at her home at this place. She bad been a member of the M. E. church South for 30 years. She died a triumphant death, her last words were "I am nearly over the river." The funeral service was conducted by her pastor Rev. Mr. Murrill, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Puffenbarger grave yard. Her children, 3 boys and 5 girls were all present at the funeral.
