SAGEVILLE, Iowa -- Mrs. Lloyd J. (Ann Runde) Streif, 71, of 11482 Leiser Lane, Sageville, died Saturday evening, April 19, 2008, at her home.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, with the Rev. Raymond Runde and the Rev. Thomas Zinkula concelebrating. Burial will be in Resurrection Garden Mausoleum, Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Hoffmann Schneider Funeral Home, 1640 Main St., where there will be a wake service at 2:30 p.m.

She was born June 12, 1936, in rural Cuba City, Wis., daughter of Aloysius and Margaret (Petry) Runde. In 1954, she graduated from Immaculate Conception Academy. She married Lloyd J. Streif on May 20, 1961, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Dubuque.

Ann was employed for many years at O'Connor Brooks & Co.

She was a member of Holy Ghost Parish, where she volunteered her time for funeral dinners. She also donated her time to the Dubuque Arboretum "green team" and Finley Hospital.

Ann was the official Runde family historian, diligently maintaining the family tree. She loved to have fun and was fun to be around. She enjoyed sports, including bowling, golf, softball and was a die-hard Cubs fan. Ann also enjoyed traveling and playing cards with family and friends.

She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Surviving are her husband, Lloyd, of Sageville; four children, Carol (Bob) Gebhart, of Dubuque, James (Lori) Streif, of Dubuque, Joleen (special friend, Brian Jacque) Shaull, of Dyersville, and Robert Streif, of Dubuque; grandchildren Kelsey and Derek Streif, Carter and Lauren Shaull, and Braden and Ava Gebhart; a brother-in-law, Daniel (Roxanne) Streif, of Dubuque; two sisters-in-law, Mary Ann (Dick) O'Hara, of Dubuque, and Beverly DeValera, of La Quinta, Calif.; and many close friends, including the "lunch bunch."

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Marian Hauth, Florence Helgeson, and Elaine Schmitt; and two brothers, Donald and Richard Runde.
