Billy R. Adams, age 75, of Gratis Township passed from this life at 5:27 a.m. on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, after an extended illness surrounded by family. Bill went home to be with the Lord. Billy was born June 3, 1948, in Floyd's Branch (Red Lick), Kentucky the son of the late James and Berthie (Alexander) Adams.
He was married to Ruth (Callahan) Adams on April 6, 2004, who survives. He is also survived by 2 sons, Tyler Adams (Sami),of Berea, KY, Shane Edwards, (Paula), of Iowa; 2 daughters, Christal Saunders (Walt), of Middletown, OH and Emily Abrams (Jesse), of Soldotna, Alaska. Grandchildren: Lalen, Memphis, Raina, Onyx, Cameron, Bailey, Kaleb (Marissa), Christian (Victoria), Jamie (Jake), Lauren (Andrew), Braydon (Abbie), Morgan, Sydney, Grady, Henry and Brynn; great-grandchildren, Liam, Khylie and Sofia (His Princess). Also survived by 3 brothers, Barney Adams,Berea, KY, L.J. (Evelyn) Adams, Lucasville, OH, M.A. Adams, Red Lick, KY; 1 sister, Ruby (Frank) Abney; and nieces, nephews and many friends. In addition to his parents, 2 sons, Billy Ray Adams, Jr. and Johnny Adams; 2 grandsons, Justin Alexandia and Seth Abrams; 4 brothers, Forrest, Elmo, Major and Ivan; 2 sisters, Madeline Stewart and Vicki Lakes preceded Billy in death. Billy was a member of Bridge Point Community Church. He was a car salesman, who loved cars. He loved the Smokey Mountains, taking care of his farm land, grilling steaks and watchin Gun Smoke and his cowboy boots.
