Vickie Lynn Lakes, 91, passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at her home.
Vickie was born on December 22, 1929 in Madison County, Kentucky, and was the daughter of James and Bertha Alexander Adams, both of whom preceded her in death. She was a loving mother, grandmother, friend, and homemaker, and had a faith that carried her through to the end.
Survivors include: three sons, Forest Lakes (Carol), of Cynthiana; Merle Lakes (Darla), of Waco; and Emery Lakes (Penny), of Springboro, OH; five daughters, Margie Fry (Ike), of Franklin, OH; Debbie Fletcher, of Waco; Tammy McIntosh (Vernon Jeffrey), of Waco; Sharon Modlin, of Berea; and Sandy Frank (Michael), of West Palm Beach, FL; four brothers, Barney Adams, of Waco; Billy Adams, of Ohio; M.A. Adams, of Berea; and L.J. Adams, of Adams County, OH; one sister, Ruby Abney, of Berea; 26 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband Forrest Lakes ; one son, William Lakes; one daughter, Faye Jackson; four brothers, Major Adams; Elmo Adams; Forest Adams; and Ivan Adams; one sister, Madalene Stewart; four grandchildren, Keith; Jabin; Melissa; and Miranda; and one great-grandchild, Morgan.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Stewart and Bro. Jeremy Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in the Flatwoods Cemetery.
allbearers will be: Junior Fry, Brent Lakes, Logan Lakes, Brandon Richardson, Chris Daley, and D.J. Brewer. Honorary bearers will: Javan Dunn, Tylen Hall, Josey Cruse and Chuck Daley.
