Major Adams, age 84, of Red Lick died Thursday, May 12th 2016 at Richmond Health & Rehab-Madison. A native of Madison County, he was born to the late James and Bertha Ellen Alexander Adams. Mr. Adams was retired from Dresser Industries, of the Holiness faith and was known as the fellow that sold fruit in his big white straw hat.
Mr. Adams is survived by his children, Barbara Faye (Jerry) Merritt of Berea, James Adams of Red Lick, Sadie Ellen Adams Guinn & Timothy Adams both of Berea, and Lillie (Clifton) Webb of Red Lick. Four brothers, Billy Adams of Middletown, Ohio, M.A. Adams of Berea, L.J. Adams of Lucasville, OH, Barney Adams of Waco, KY, three sisters, Madilyn Stewart of Franklin, OH, Vicky Lakes of Waco, KY, and Ruby Abney of Red Lick. Ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren also survive.
Other than his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Major Carl Adams.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Davis & Powell Funeral Home with Rev. Artie Alexander officiating. Burial will follow in the Red Lick Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Bo Isaacs, Chris Riley, John Webb, Steve Abney, Billy Adams, Steven Bowman, Hershel Adams and Lester Adams.
