Charlotte was born August 26, 1930 in Ellettsville, Indiana, a small farming community, and was one of eight children. She was the only girl, and she had to be able to hold her own, with seven brothers! She met and fell in love with Bert Robertson, and had three children: Bert Arnold, Bruce Alan and Lona Jane. Bert Arnold died from tubercular meningitis in early childhood. She was a working mom: at RCA in Bloomington, Indiana and later worked for Bank of America in Winter Haven as a Branch manager. In later life, she worked part-time at Macy's in Winter Haven.
She loved gardening, particularly roses, reading and needlepoint. She also attended Grace Lutheran Church in Winter Haven for many years.
She is survived by her children, Bruce and Lona Jane. Also survived by three brothers, Jim, Jack and Phil Bastin, as well as a granddaughter, Karen, and two great-grandchildren, Hailey and Dylan.
Even though our hearts are broken, we are grateful that she is no longer suffering, and is now dancing on the streets of gold.
