Cresencio "Chris" Mojica, 76, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away peacefully with his family lovingly by his side on July 14, 2023. Chris was born on November 16, 1946, to Blas and Nasaria Mojica in Lockhart, Texas. Chris attended Lubbock High School and was a true pioneer; he was one of the first Hispanic Football Players at LHS. After Chris graduated from Lubbock High School in 1966, he went on to enlist in the U.S. Army and served honorably in the Vietnam War for 3 years. He later went on to study at Texas Tech University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology.
Upon returning from Vietnam, he worked for Mobil Oil Corporation for several years. While working at Mobil, he was introduced to the passion of his life, GOLF. Chris was a natural at playing golf, he loved the game and could spend all day discussing golf with anyone who would listen. He enjoyed teaching others about his passion, he was a friend to all.
Chris is predeceased by his parents, Blas Mojica Sr., and Nasaria S. Mojica. Chris is also predeceased by his siblings, Ricardo Mojica, Mary Alice Espinoza, Leonardo Mojica, and Jose Guadalupe Mojica. Chris is also predeceased by his eldest son, Anthony Mojica. Chris is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Amy Mojica; his son Cresencio Mojica Jr. and wife Raquel of Chicago, Illinois; his son Abran Mojica of Lubbock, one stepson, Ted Enriquez of Clovis, California, and 7 grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Blas Mojica Jr., Basilio Mojica, Edward Mojica, Antonio Mojica, Natalia M. Salazar, and adopted sister Delia Teneyuque of Michigan.
The family would like to express our appreciation and gratitude to Beyond Faith Hospice and Visiting Angels for the support and nurturing given to Chris and Amy during their difficult time.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Chris will be held at Sanders Funeral Home on Monday, July 31st at 10:00 A.M. Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers for the Mojica Family
