Bernice Virginia Burdiek Glover, 99, went peacefully to her eternal rest Monday October 2, 2023 at Citizens Medical Center, Colby, KS. She was born September 22, 1924 at the family farm near Kelly, KS to Frank and Anna (Meyer) Burdiek. She graduated from St. Peter and Paul High School, Seneca, KS. After graduation, she worked at Union Pacific Railroad in Topeka, KS, where she met her future husband, Donald Glover at a USO dance. They were married on February 4, 1947 at St. Bede Catholic Church in Kelly, KS. During Don's Air Force career, they lived in many places, with Puerto Rico being the most memorable, finally settling in Salina in 1959.

Bernice was preceded in death by Don after 57 years of marriage, her mother and father, and her 6 brothers and 2 sisters. She is survived by her children Judith (Robert) Jilka; Donna (Terry) Roberts; Thomas (Cynthia) Glover; and 9 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson.

Bernice was involved in many ministries at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Salina, Catholic Daughters, the VFW Auxiliary, and was an avid Sacred Heart High School booster. She was also a teacher's aid in the Salina public school system, and particularly enjoyed working with special needs children.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, October 9th with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Ryan Mortuary, Salina. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 10th at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Salina; burial at Roselawn Cemetery
