Mrs. Eva Jane Fox, 87 years old, died this morning at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Katherine Good, 1902 Sheridan St., where she had lived for the last 12 years.
She was born Feb. 24, 1871 in Tipton County, the daughter of Wash and Mary Harney.
Mrs. Fox was twice married, first to James Shockley, April 30, 1889 in Marion. He died in February 1901. She later married James W. Fox, Dec. 13, 1903, who died May 3, 1939.
Mrs. Fox was a member of the South Side Tabernacle. Surviving are eight children: Mrs. Chloe Ferell of Warren, Ohio, Mrs. Good, Mrs. Flossie Barnes, Marion, Miss Mary Shockley of Elwood, Mrs. Madge Nye of Marion, John Fox of Alexandria, Graydon Fox of Mt. Etna, Ind., and Verl Fox, Portland, Oreg.; and 22 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; three sisters, Mrs. Goldie Allen of Tipton, Mrs. Mabel Allen and Mrs. Mary Knorr, both of Elwood; and one brother, Oliver Estes of Elwood.
The body is at the Copher and Fesler funeral home where friends may call Thursday. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Copher and Fesler funeral home. Burial will be in Elwood cemetery.
