Robert H. Cochren, 71, of Durant, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at his home in Durant.
A Celebration of Life service will be 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 10, at the Durant American Legion in Durant. Memorials may be made to the family in his memory.
Private family graveside services with burial will be in the Durant Cemetery, Durant, Iowa.
Robert Henry Cochren was born January 28, 1952, in Kewanee, Illinois, the son of Henry and Erabell (Hunter) Cochren. He graduated from Wyoming High School in Wyoming, Illinois and from EICC in Muscatine. He married Debra Jo Stuff. They were the parents of Christopher, Kevin, Elizabeth and Staci. Robert and Debra were later divorced. He married Connie Lee Schult on November 20, 1982, in Durant. They were the parents of Ashley. He was employed in the Information Technology department of the Reiser Jennings CPA company in Davenport for 45 years. He was a member of the former Durant and Davenport Jaycees. He enjoyed camping, fishing and watching Sci-Fi movies. Above all, he loved the time he spent with his family.
Surviving are his wife, Connie; one son, Kevin (Jayme) Cochren of Ocoee, FL; three daughters, Elizabeth Cochren of Waukee, Staci (Kevin) Cochren of Durant and Ashley (Donald) Reinier of Davenport; 18 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Lillian Hoffman of Toulon, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Christopher Cochren, one grandson, Justin Gilliland and one great-grandson, Ashton Gilliland.
