Doolittle pronouncing the marriage)" Her father James Cass and Uncle Walter Cass signed the certificate as witness'. At this marriage the certificate states that her name was "Almira". One child came from this marriage, Frank Chatman b. abt 1855. This first marriage ended in divorce.
1860 U S Census: "Elmira Hoxey" (sp) age 27y b. Pennsylvania (error) is married and living with her husband S. P. (Silas) "Hoxey" and their son, James Age 0y in Ithaca, Richland, WI.
Frank was adopted by Elmira's second husband, Silas P. Hoxie and was then on known as Frank Allen Hoxie.
Second Marriage: Silas Paddock Hoxie on 24 Dec 1858 in Richland County, WI. Three children were born to this marriage for a total of four children in the household.
