John Everett Turman, age 78, died Tuesday, November 19 at his home. Funeral services were held Thursday, November 21 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Concord Cemetery with the Rev. Dan Wilemon, the Rev. David Greer and the Rev. Harold Robinson officiating.
The son of the late William Turman and the late Ona Bishop, he was a retired furniture factory employee. A lifelong resident of Chickasaw County, he was a Methodist.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Evie Rose Smith Turman of Houston; one son, William (Billy) Turman of Houston and one sister, Mrs. Jewel Barwick of Starkville.
Pallbearers were Richard Duke, Charles Hamblin, Max Duke, James Bivens, Wayne Kincaed and William Bivens.
Houston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
