Gail Alexander Finley, age 88, of Cadiz, Kentucky, escaped the pain of this world and was taken to her heavenly reward on Sunday, September 24, 2023, from Trigg County Hospital in Cadiz.

Born March 7, 1935, in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, she was the youngest of five children of the late Milo Alexander and the late Lola Burris Alexander.

After graduating from Sinking Fork High School in 1953, Gail was employed by International Shoe Company in Hopkinsville. There she met Randel Finley, who was back from serving two tours in the Korean War. They were married November 4, 1954, and were blessed with three children, a son, Barron R., and two daughters, Sandy and Jill. Gail went on to work in the medical records department and front office of Trigg County Hospital, where she retired with 23 years of service.

Gail was a longtime member of Hurricane Baptist Church. She was a compassionate, hardworking, witty woman who loved to socialize and never met a stranger. She was a loving mother and Nana and deeply treasured her family and the time spent with them.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Randel Finley; two brothers, Bryce Alexander and J.D. Alexander, and two sisters, Erma Hensley and Alma Hensley.

She is survived by her children, Barron (Carmen) Finley, Sandy Finley, and Jill (David) Cunningham, all of Cadiz; three grandchildren, Leah Finley, Bryce Cunningham, and Hayden Cunningham; and a multitude of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at Goodwin Funeral Home, 138 Main Street in Cadiz, at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 30, 2023, with Rev. Jamus Redd officiating. Burial will follow in Hurricane Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service.
