A native of Union County, SC; son of the late Jordan Franklin Fant Bishop (1871–1954) and Martha Delia Foster Bishop (1871–1955); husband of Katheryn Greer Bishop.
A member of Lower Fairforest Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Rachel Kendrick; sons, Thomas M. Bishop and Lindsey Bishop; sisters, Althea Bishop Bishop (1899-1992) and Mrs. Joe Stevens; brothers, Farr Adolphus Bishop (1905-1993), and and Arthur Jones Bishop (1910–1987); and eight grandchildren.
Also predeceased by brothers, Fant Foster Bishop (1897–1971), Hopper Porter Bishop (1912–1953), and James Franklin Bishop (1902-1973).
Funeral services were held at 3:00 pm at Lower Fairforest Baptist Church by Rev. Gene Whelchel and Rev. Joe Wilson Smith; burial in the church cemetery.
