Vaughn was born a Westfall and adopted by a Willeford when his parents died. He married Patricia Ann Martin 11 July 1959 in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas. Vaughn graduated from college in San Marcos, Texas,became a school teacher,and owned a dairy for a number of years. He loved to fish and play dominoes also.
They had two daughters.Cynthia who married a Carey Watson and Cheryl who married Tim Toffeson. Cynthia and Carey never had any children. Cheryl and Tim had a daughter and a son. Vaughn is buried in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa, Ector County, Texas.
