Obituary found in The Wichita Eagle of September 2, 1925 -- "County Pioneer Passes; William Stewart Brown, 73, Settled Near Bayneville in 1876; William Stewart Brown, 73, one of Sedgwick county's oldest pioneers, died Tuesday at 1 p.m. His home was at 516 West Douglas avenue.

"Mr. Brown was born in Illinois and came to this county in 1876, settling near Bayneville. In 1898, he moved to Wichita and has made his home in this city since that time.

"He is survived by his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Jessie Gilbert, Wichita; Mrs. Grace Brooks, Burden, Kan.; Mrs. Eunice Cox, Ponca City, Okla., and Mrs. Marguerette Cameron, Coffeyville, Kan.; four sons, H. L. Brown, Red Rock, Okla.; W. T. Brown, Moreland, Okla.; B. L. Brown, Wichita, and G. C. Brown, Wichita; one brother and one sister.

"No funeral arrangements have been made. West Side Undertaking parlors are in charge."
