Eleanor ("Ellie") Frances Trebilcox, originally from Milan, Michigan, was 90 years young when she passed away peacefully Monday, September 11, 2023, at her home in Willis, Michigan, under the care of her family. Ellie's husband, HalC Trebilcox, predeceased her March 22, 2013.

Ellie leaves behind her son, Hal C., Jr. ("Rusty") and his long-time companion, Thomas C. Oxford; her daughter, Tammy Anne Operfmann and her husband, James ("Jim") and their three sons and grandsons to Ellie; Justin and his wife, Brittany and their daughter Evelyn Rose; Scott and his wife, Caitlyn and their two sons, Jacob and Caiden; and Chad and his wife, Emily. Ellie also leaves behind a sister, Janet Marie Larson and her husband, Gaylen ("Bud") and their two sons, Erik, and his wife Melissa and their family; and Greg, and his wife Jody and their family. Other family members include nephew, Marshal Kenneth Townsley and his family; nephew, Steven ("Jay") Joseph Benedick, III and his wife, Wendy and their family; nephew by marriage, Raymond ("Denny") Royal and his wife Carolyn and their family; great nephew by marriage, Kevin Lee Wenzel and his wife, Dawn and their family; and great niece by marriage, Jody Taylor and her husband, Greg and their family.

A private family graveside service is planned for Saturday, September 30th, 2023. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Michigan Chapter (www.alz.org/gmc), and St. Joseph's Indian School, 1301 North Main St., Chamberlain, SD 57325 (www.stjo.org).

Ellie leaves behind many family members, dear friends and business associates. She was deeply loved, admired and respected by all who knew her. She was kind, generous and a grand storyteller. Under her senior picture in the 1949 Milan High School annual yearbook the following statement reads: "You haven't lived until you heard her laugh!" Ellie's rich and boisterous laugh was like the sound of church bells ringing on Sunday morning. It was pure and joyful. It would make you smile, warm your heart and feel welcome all at the same time. Best of all, it always made you feel loved. On a side note (and God bless her for this), Ellie was almost always perpetually late. Many's the time her family would tell her explicitly to be someplace an hour earlier than everyone else just so she would be close to being on time. No doubt and at long last, she and her husband of almost 60 years, Hal C, are finally together; and no doubt Hal C's first remark to her as she approached him patiently waiting for her at Heaven's "Pearly Gates" was, "Good God, Ellie! What took you so long?"

Rest in peace Mom. We love you dearly and miss you already.
