Blanche Witt Ward, of Willcox, died in Sierra Vista on June 16, 2008 at the age of 88. She was born in Ashdown, Ark., on March 17, 1920 to James Warren Adair and Jessie Zoella Redding Adair.

Blanche moved to Willcox in 1952, and from 1954 until 1963, she owned and managed the Duncan Hotel Coffee Shop. In 1963 she managed the Regal Café and in 1969 became manager of the Dunlap Truck Stop Plaza Restaurant until her retirement in 1974. In 1999, she managed Moore's Self Storage.

Blanche is survived by her daughter Kay (Irl) Downes of Carlsbad, N.M.; her sons John Thomas (Donna) Witt of Warsaw, Mo. and Clifford Paul (Jean) Witt of Bernice, La., along with eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters Robbie Kuykendall of Las Cruces, N.M., and Cathryn Paris of North Highlands, Calif.; and her brother Arthur (Nancy) Clark of North Highlands, Calif. Preceding her in death were her husbands Clifford Robert Witt in 1968 and Rodney Ward in 2002 and her sisters Docia Belle Smith and Virginia Kane.

Memorial Services were held at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 20, 2008 at Westlawn Chapel.
