Audley G. Lasher of Kittanning RD 5 (Hughesville) died at 11:50 a.m. Thursday (Sept. 5, 1963) at his home after a lingering illness. Mr. Lasher was born July 14, 1896 at Adrian, a son of George and Mary (Frick) Lasher. He had lived for the past 22 years in the vicinity in which he died, and was a merchant by occupation, having owned his own grocery store. He was a member of Salem United Church of Christ, a World War I veteran, a member of Kittanning Odd Fellows Lodge, Cosgrove post, American Legion of Rural Valley, Kittanning Branch of World War I Veterans, Kittanning Veterans of Foreign Wars, West Kittanning Hose Company and Old Timers Progressive Club of Rural Valley. Surviving are his widow, Isabelle (Myers) Lasher; two sons, Fred E. of Pulaski RD 1, Howard L. of California; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Ridenour of Kittanning RD 5; six grandchildren; a brother, Thomas F. Lasher of Adrian; and two sisters, Mrs. Nancy Skinner of Adrian and Mrs. Irene Cramer of McKeesport. He was preceded in death by a son George W. Lasher, in 1933. Friends are being received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Saturday at Carson Funeral, Rural Valley. Friends also may pay their respects one hour prior to service time at 2 p.m. Sunday at Salem United Church of Christ, Rev. Eli R. Fabian, Church pastor, will officiate. Interment will take place in Montgomeryville Cemetery.

He was a merchant, member of the Salem United Church of Christ, a veteran of World War I, member of the following organizations: Kittanning I.O.O.F. Lodge No. 340; American Legion Post 523, Rural Valley; Kittanning Branch No. 3025, WW I Veterans; Kittanning VFW; West Kittanning Hose Co., and the Old Timers Progressive Club of Rural Valley. In addition to his wife, he is survived by the following sons; Fred E. Pulaski R.D. 1, Pa.; Howard, Calif., one daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Ridenour, Kittanning R.D. 5; six grandchildren; and the following brother and sisters: Thomas F., Adrian; Mrs. Nancy Skinner, Adrian, and Mrs. Irene Cramer, McKeesport. Friends will be received at the Roy W. Carson Funeral Home, Rural Valley, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today and Saturday. Services be held at the Salem United Church of Christ on Sunday afternoon at p p.m. Rev. Eli R. Fabian, officiating. Interment will follow in the Montgomeryville Cemetery.
