Alta J RILEY was the daughter of Spencer Turner and Frances Eliza Saxton BARBER. She was one of 7 girls and no boys.


She married John P RILEY on 22 Feb 1871 in Vicksburg, Kalamazoo Co., Michigan. John was her sister Josie's husband Albert A Riley's cousin (they both descended from Daniel Riley and Lydia Doolittle, they were 2nd/3rd cousins once removed).


They had five children who all survived to adulthood:
