Betty Jean Stinson Matlock, 94, of Bowling Green passed away August 22, 2023 at Hopkins Center in Woodburn. The Allen County native was born January 24, 1929 to the late Fred Marion and Harriett Cornelia Hicks Stinson.

She was also preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Ernest Eron Matlock and several siblings.

She was a self-employed beautician and later worked in production at Lord Corporation. Betty attended and was a member of Farview Memorial Missionary Baptist Church in Bowling Green and was active in the Singing Seniors. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Groves (Scott) of Georgetown, KY; son, Mike Matlock (Roberta) of Bowling Green; step-daughter, Connie Taft (William Rhett) of Crawfordville, FL; grandchildren, Joshua Matlock, Justin Matlock (Sarah), Colin Tuck (Joanna Packer), and LeAnna Tuck (Matthew Guertin); five great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and special friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday with visitation from 3 until 8 p.m. Friday, 3 until 8 p.m. Saturday, and from noon until 2 p.m. Sunday with burial next to her husband at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
