Charles Edgar Austino Jr, 97, of Springfield, MO passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2023.

He was born April 15, 1926, to Charles and Martha Austino in Ransom, IL.

Charles was a proud veteran of the US Navy. He served his country as a cook in both World War II and Korea. He worked in carpentry and woodworking for many years. Later in life he enjoyed fishing, gardening, canning, mowing on his riding lawn mower and working in his woodshop.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Byrnes; one stepson, Mark Perkins; his parents, Charles Edgar Austino Sr and Martha Austino; his first wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Austino; and siblings, Tom, Carmen, Katie, Bob, Billy and Toby.

Charles is survived by his wife, five children, a stepson, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his mother-in-law, a sister and her husband, a brother-in-law and his wife, and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held this Fall at Little Prairie Lake, St. James, MO. Placement of the urn will be held at a later date at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
