Funeral services for Leslie "Lackie" Bradberry, 70, of Nacogdoches, will be held at 1:00 PM, on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Eastside United Pentecostal Church with Bro. Ennis Fuller officiating. Interment will follow at Cove Springs Cemetery.

Lackie Bradberry, 70 years of age, passed away Saturday, July 29th, 2023, with his family by his side in Melrose, Texas.

He was born in Golden Meadow, Louisiana to Dugere and Adrienne (Besson) Bradberry and was raised in Grand Isle, Louisiana. He was one of eighteen children.

He attended school in Grand Isle. He loved to play basketball, hunt, and fish. He later became known as we like to call him "The Best washer player of all time." He started working when he was at a young age, his first real job was working for the town of Grand Isle, then made his way to Brown & Root. During those years he also helped instruct fire school for Exxon. Not to mention, he was an excellent carpenter.

In July of 1971, Lackie unexpectedly gifted the love of his life a stuffed animal that he won at the Grand Isle Fair. He quickly knew that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Vivian by his side, and that he did. They married January 9, 1973, and spent their lifetime making beautiful memories, which included two wonderful children. Lackie and Vivian had a marriage that was the perfect example for their children and grandchildren, and he loved her until the day that he died.

He moved to Melrose, Texas in 1988. Once he moved to Melrose, he started a job at Nacoma, and worked there for a short time. Then after working there, he moved on to Tyson Foods until he decided to retire after 28 years. He had a large Tyson family that he loved very much.

After retirement, he prioritized time with his family. He enjoyed simple outings with his wife Vivian, spending time with his children and son-in-law anytime he could, and most of all hunting and fishing with his beloved grandsons. Lackie acquired his happiness from helping others with anything that they needed. That included helping and lending a hand to anyone who crossed his path, serving others would put a huge smile on his face. He felt like God called him to serve in this way.

Lackie lived his life serving the Lord, he was a deacon at Melrose Baptist Church for many years. He loved praying out loud, which was some of the most beautiful prayers. He also loved ringing the church bell before greeting everyone that walked in. He made it his mission to spread the word of God. He would write lovely scripture and quotes to add to the Melrose Baptist Church sign that displayed on Hwy 21 for everyone to see and read. July of 2021, he decided to attend the Eastside Pentecostal Church where he loved listening to Bro. Fuller's sermons as well as the praise team sing.

Lackie was a great friend to all and a "Pa Lackie" to many children in the community.

Lackie is survived by his wife of 50 years. Vivian Bradberry, Daughter Tyana and husband Joey Michelle, son Brock Bradberry, Grandchildren, Gunner and wife Cassidy Micheli, Chaz Micheli, Blais Micheli, and Tyce Micheli. And Mother-in-Law Carolyn Guarnere. Also, numerous Brothers and Sisters and nieces and nephews. Also, a special friend, Mary Jo Molandes.
