ORONO and HAMPDEN—Alice M. (Modery) Narauska, 83, wife of the late Joseph Narauska, died April 9, 2007, at her Orono home. She was born July 5, 1923, in Orono, the daughter of Ralph and Hattie (Cole) Modery.
Alice was a dedicated member of Orono United Methodist Church, longtime member of the Odd Fellows, the Rebekah's and the American Legion, having served during World War II with the Navy WAVES. She worked for many years as an x-ray technician at the Bangor Tuberculosis Clinic.
She is survived by one brother, Robert "Bob" Modery of Orono; three nephews, Robert "R.J." Modery of Old Town, Robert C. Modery of Olamon and Ralph Modery of Florida; one niece, Donna Sailor of Gardiner. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, Donald and Charles Modery.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, at Brookings-Smith, LeBeau Chapel, 72 Main St., Orono, where funeral services will be held noon Thursday, April 12, with the Rev.
