ORONO—Billie (Klimas) Modery, 59, died July 17, 1993, at a Portland hospital after a long illness. She was born in Jefferson City, Mo., June 26, 1934, the daughter of William and Valda (Tennyson) Klimas.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Orono, the VFW Auxiliary of Old Town and the DAV Auxiliary John F. Kennedy Post.

Billie's love was her hobby of porcelain doll making and teddy bear creations.

In addition to her mother of Jefferson City, Mo., she is survived by her beloved husband of 41 years, Robert Modery of Orono; one son, Robert "R.J." Modery of Orono; two sisters, Wanda Thomason of Mt. View, Mo. and Claudia Scott of Jefferson City, Mo.; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Kiley-Birmingham Funeral Home, 287 S. Main St., Old Town. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1 p.m. Tuesday at Holy Family Parish (St. Mary's). Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Orono.
