July 6, 2023, Ross C. Fillmore, 85, of Ivins, UT returned to the arms of his Father in Heaven, he passed peacefully at home with his beloved wife, Donna (Lay) Fillmore.
He was born in Spanish Fork, UT on March 17, 1938, to William Rosland Fillmore and Pearl Curtis Fillmore. Ross grew up most of his life in Spanish Fork, UT where he graduated from Spanish Fork High School.
After graduation Ross served our country in the National Guard and returned home to marry Janice James. They were married for 21 years and lived in Spanish Fork. They had 8 beautiful children together. They later divorced.
On July 10, 1981, Ross married his sweetheart of 43 yrs., Donna Lay. They lived in Ivins, UT most of their married life. They had one beautiful daughter together, Amanda. She brightened their days and kept them young. She was the perfect addition to his 8 other children.
Ross was known for his work ethic and attention to detail. He worked most of his life as an industrial engineer. Later, when he moved to Ivins, UT, he was self-employed.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ was a big part of Ross's life. He loved the gospel and served many years in scouts, bishopric, and various other callings. He taught his children to follow the Savior and serve.
Ross had a love for the outdoors. He enjoyed camping, yardwork, four-wheeling with his wife and hiking with his children and grandchildren. Some of his favorite times were spent hunting and fishing with his brothers and his children. He and Donna loved watching football and basketball together. The BYU and Utah Jazz couldn't have any better fans! They had each of their seasons recorded so they could watch them on replay. Ross loved reading and studying the gospel, if there wasn't work to done, he had his nose in a book.
Ross was preceded in death by his father, William Rosland Fillmore; mother, Pearl Curtis Fillmore; 4 brothers, Curtis Fillmore, Wayne Fillmore, Dean Fillmore, and Gordon Fillmore; 1 sister, Fern Hatch; 1 daughter, Amanda Pulsipher.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Lay Fillmore; 8 children, Deborah (Steve) Wyler, Melanie (Steve) Newell, Jerilyn Kaid, James (Angie) Fillmore, Todd Fillmore, Angela (Kurt) Kelson, Jennifer (Richard) Hatfield, Natalie (Artur) Terabelian; 32 grandchildren, Kimberly Hoffman, Justin Hoffman, Travis Stotts, Ryan Newell, Leisl Bailey, Lindsey Coats, Michael Newell, Jarom Newell, Bobbi Jo Meadows, Maddison Martensen , Ryan Fillmore, Jared Fillmore, Parker Fillmore, Mckall Fillmore, Brady DeGraw, Kylie Brinkerhoff, Hallie DeGraw, Scott Hatfield, Kaisha Huley, Kaden Kelson, Todd Kelson, Max Kelson, Jacob Hatfield, Reece Hatfield, David Hatfield, Tyler Zeeman, Talia Zeeman, Britton Zeeman, Talise Pulsipher, Kamberly Pulsipher, Kendon Pulsipher, and Taislee Pulsipher; and 33 great grandchildren.
We will miss you Sweetheart, Dad, and Grandpa! God be with you until we meet again.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 15, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. in the Ivins Main Street Chapel, 15 North Main Street, Ivins, Utah. A visitation will be held Saturday, prior to services, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Ivins City Cemetery located at 200 West 400 North.
