JOSEPH A. BEIDE of SCHAUMBURG

Prayers for Joseph A. Beide, 87, a resident of Friendship Village, formerly of Downers Grove, will be said at 10:45 a.m. Saturday, at Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral Home, 330 W. Golf Road, Schaumburg. A celebration of Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 1001 E. Schaumburg Road, Schaumburg.

Born Nov. 4, 1916, in Granite City, Ill., he died Wednesday, June 16, 2004, in Schaumburg. Interment will be in Assumption Cemetery, Winfield. Mr. Beide was employed as a sales engineer for Allied Process Equipment for 15 years. After 28 years of service, he etired from the Army with the rank of lieutenant colonel, and was a member of the Reserve Officers Association.

Joseph was the husband of the late Marie (nee Huth); father of Karl (Suzanne) Beide and Patricia M.(Gary) Frisch; brother of Elsie Sheehan and Marie (Jack) Roche; and uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Louise Hutchings.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Disease Association, 919 N. Michigan Ave., Suite 1100, Chicago, IL 60611.
