ABILENE: Dennis Lee Grogan SR, age 77 years old entered eternal rest, surrounded by his family in his home on July 8, 2023, after a courageous fight with cancer. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, from 5 to 7pm at Fry-Smith Funeral Home, Tuscola. Graveside services, with honors, will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, in the Texas State Veterans Cemetery committal shelter at 11:00am. Directed by Fry-Smith Funeral Home.
Dennis was born on October 12th, 1945, in Pipestone, MN to Clarence Martin Grogan and Gina "Jenny" Matilda Grogan. He was one of seven children. In 1963 he joined the Army and served until 1969. When returning Dennis Grogan married the love of his life Bonita Sue Severied on December 21, 1967, in Lake Wilson, MN. Dennis and Bonita Grogan moved to Abilene, TX in 1969, making this their home and raising two children Dennis Grogan JR and Denise Grogan-Howe.
Dennis worked 47 years at Copy Machines Company, until retiring in 2017. Dennis enjoyed his time at the farm and being "PAPA" most of all.
Dennis is preceded in Death by his wife Bonita Grogan, two infant children, his brothers Donald Grogan and Bill Grogan and his Sister Lois Joseph.
