Gronquist - Marian Marie Elizabeth, 87, Bella Vista, Ark., died Tuesday (11/11/03) in Bentonville, Ark. She was born April 2, 1916, in Marquette to Albert P. Anderson and Mary (Hamlow) Anderson.
She was raised and educated in Waverly and at Lincoln School of Commerce. She was employed at the Lancaster County Courthouse in Lincoln as a secretary. She married Joseph R. Gronquist in Waverly on Sept. 11, 1940. They lived in Lincoln. She was employed at Union Bank for many years and later as a secretary at the University of Nebraska at East Campus. She moved to Bella Vista in November 2001.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jerry J. Gronquist; brother, Clifford A. Anderson; sisters, Florence Benson, Blanche Schlaphoff.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Joseph Gronquist, Bella Vista; daughters, sons-in-law, Judy and Ken Harms, Bella Vista, Susan E. and George Nelson, Lawrenceville, Ga.; daughter-in-law, Nancy Gronquist, Louisville, Colo.; sister, Gladys V. Oyer, Bella Vista; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Services:11 a.m. Saturday, Roper &Sons Funeral Services, 4300 O St. Visitation: 5 p.m. Friday until services, funeral home. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, to: Lincoln Berean Church, 6400 S. 70th St., Lincoln 68516; or Back to the Bible, 6400 Cornhusker Highway, Lincoln 68507.
