Edward A. Buchholz Jr., age 76, of Taylor, WI passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at his farm. He was born to Edward Sr. and Hazel Buchholz in Arcadia, WI on May 9, 1947 and was the second youngest of 8 children. Ed grew up on his family farm in Fountain City, and he graduated from Cochrane-Fountain City High School. He went on to military service in the Army and was stationed in Korea with a rank of Sergeant. After returning home from the Army, Ed married Jean on October 26, 1968 and had three boys: Dean, Brian, and Neil. At this point Ed and his family took over the farm that he grew up on and began raising livestock while he also drove a milk truck fulltime, working 25 years for Neitzel Trucking. In 1996, Ed and Jean moved to Taylor, WI and began farming fulltime (first dairy and later beef) until his death.

Ed enjoyed hunting, horses, farming, and his family. He was active in starting a local trail riding horse club in Fountain City that provided many great memories for him and his family. In his early years, Ed was an avid coon hunter and always had a good hound to go along with him and his sons out in the woods. In addition, he loved deer hunting and was very successful at it-sharing many of his stories with friends and family. In his spare time, he enjoyed polka music (listening, watching on TV, and dancing w/Jean), watching old Westerns, and spending time with his family & friends.

Ed will be missed by his wife Jean, sons Dean (Beth) & Neil (Vicky), daughter in-law Debbie, grandchildren Devon (Hannah) and Lindsey, sisters Sandy & Elaine, nieces, nephews, other family, and friends. Ed is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Muriel, Janice, Lillian, Thelma, Vernell, and his son Brian. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Alma chapel at 11:00 AM until the time of the service at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at the Fountain City Public Cemetery with military honors. A luncheon will be held at the VFW in Cochrane afterwards.
