OSSEO — Muriel Hazel Fremstad passed away peacefully on Monday, October 10, 2016, at Grandview Care Center in Blair WI.
Muriel was born on February 4, 1932 in Fountain City to Edward and Hazel Buchholz. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Michaels Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fountain City where she also attended school and graduated in 1949. Muriel was united into marriage to Gerhard Fremstad on March 25, 1950.
Muriel was always very busy with things from regular farm life, to community events and most importantly to her taking care of her grandchildren. She made quilts of different kinds for everyone in her family and some received several and no one ever left her home without a sample of her excellent cookies.
Muriel is survived by her two sons, Dennis (Judy) Fremstad of Whitehall and Gregory (Cathy) Fremstad of Burr Oak; five grandchildren, Debbie Wilcox of Whitehall, Daniel (Julie) Fremstad of Whitehall, Donna (Frank) Klein of Whitehall, April (Chad) Luehne of Delavan, Billy Fremstad of Melrose; 12 great-grandchildren, Dillon and Danica Wilcox, Jacob and Justin Fremstad, Anastasia, Aurora, Isabella Dodge, Cadence and Cordelia Klien, Tea and Quinten Luehne, Isabella Fremstad; 1 great-great-grandson Jonathon Wilcox. Sisters, Elaine Stiehl of Arcadia and Sandy (Carl) Dailey of Fountain City; one brother, Edward (Jeanne) Buchholz Jr. of Taylor and many nieces and nephews along with a couple special neighborhood “grandchildren”, Andy, Maria, Karmen and Drew Paulus.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerhard Fremstad, her parents, Edward and Hazel Buchholz; sisters Lillian Arens, Janice Rieck, Vernell Drazkowski and Thelma Dierauer.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 13, 2016, at Peace Lutheran Church of Pigeon Falls WI, with Pastor Mary Ann Bowman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at Schiefelbein Funeral Home in Osseo and one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
