Sandra K. Alspaw, 78, of Malta Bend, MO, formerly of Marshall, MO, died Monday, June 5, 2023, at her home surrounded by family.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 9, 2023, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society. Born March 9, 1945, in Rosebud, MO, she was the daughter of the late John Wilson McDaniel and Marie L. Williams McDaniel. On April 18, 1961, in Marshall, she married John "J.D." Alspaw who survives of the home. She lived in Marshall most of her life, moving to Malta Bend two years ago, and was of the Baptist faith. She was a homemaker and an in-home caregiver. She loved to play cards and games and dance to country music. She loved being with all of her family.
Survivors include her husband, J.D.; six children, JoAnne Rader (Leland Graves) of Grand Pass, MO, David Alspaw (Julie) of Marshall, Melvin Alspaw (Marie) of Malta Bend, Angela Shoemaker (Neal) of Marshall, Clyde Alspaw (June) of Moline, IL and Carol Gipe (Lee) of Waverly, MO; 21 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; one sister, Diane Kateman of Colorado Springs, CO; one brother, Wayne McDaniel of St. Louis, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by one daughter, Veronica K. Jamison; infant granddaughter, Olivia Alspaw; two great-grandsons, Caleb Rader and Easton Gipe; five sisters, Betty Duffey, Carol Neel, Margie Jolliff, Joyce Garrison and Evelyn England; and three brothers, Carl, Billy and Clyde McDaniel.
