Faustine Ballamis, 88, passed away March 17, 2008 at Sandy Regional Care Center in Sandy, Utah.






She was born April 18, 1919 in Tropic, Utah to Joseph Henry and Elsie Amelia Cope Pollock. She married Ernest Ballamis on Jan. 14, 1943 in Union, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on Sept. 8, 1960. Ernest preceded her in death on Jan. 26, 1992. Faustine was a graduate of Jordan High School. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and her most enjoyable callings were in Young Women and Primary, where she loved to teach. She also loved being a Visiting Teacher. She was a wonderful cook, and loved to share with neighbors and friends. She was a volunteer at the Sandy Senior Center and Sandy Museum, and she received the President's Volunteer Service Award in 2006 for her years of service.






She is survived by her children, Susan (Steve) Clark, Kathleen (Ronald L.) Freeman, Cheryl (Paul) Winfrey, Patricia (Gale) Schmidt, Steven (Debra) Ballamis, and Louis (Cherie) Ballamis; 26 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; sister, Myrna (Jack) Rice, and brother, Bill (Jeneane) Pollock. Preceded in death by a granddaughter, a great-grandson, two brothers, and one sister.






Funeral Services will be held Sat., March 22, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Sandy West Stake Center, 8650 S. 220 E., where Viewings will be held Fri. 6-8 p.m. and Sat. 10-10:45 a.m.
Interment: Sandy City Cemetery.
