Rhoda Bailey was born in Johnson county, Ind., on Feb. 8th 1828. She joined the M.E. church when but a girl and has lived a Christian to the end. She was married to George M. Baker in Dec. 1854. To this union were born seven children, four boys and three girls. One girl died at the age of three years and six children survive her. Her husband died Nov. 3rd, 1896. Since that time she has made her home with her daughter, Serena Chapple, where she died. She departed this life May 19th, 1902. Her age was 72 years, 3 months, 11 days.
