Louretta (Lou) Ferree Walker was born 6/18/1852 in Boston, OH, & died 7/21/1932 in Wauneta, NE. at the age of 88 years.
She was united in marriage to Sayers B. Walker, 4/20/1880 in Ohio.Six children were born to this union, all of whom survive her except a daughter who died in infancy. Another son, Geo. L., by a former marriage of Mr. Walker, was raised by her. Her
husband departed this life 2/01/1922.
For five years following their marriage they lived in Ohio, moving to Edgar, NE in 1885. One year later they moved to this community and filed on a homestead ten miles S.E. of Wauneta,
in the area of Ough. Here they remained until the year 1904 when they moved to Wauneta, becoming actively engaged in community interests until death claimed her.
Forty-three years ago she united with the M.E. church during the ministry of W.H. Jennings, one of the pioneer preachers of Methodism in this part of the state, and was faithful in her attendance and generous in support of all its interests, until called to the church triumphant before the throne of God.
She leaves to mourn her departure her children, Clarence G., Clyde L., Otto E., Mrs. Pearl Brannon, Frank E., & George L., two sisters and two brothers in Ohio,15 grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services Saturday at M.E. church, burial at Riverside Cemetery. Rev. Gibb, with C.E. Johnson, funeral director, conducted the services.

Parents of Lou were Wm & Mary Frances (Meek)Ferree. Her paternal Grandparents were Snowden & Charlotte (Goldtrap)Ferree.
