OBITUARY :
MRS. ETTA L. DAVIS, aged 82, formerly of Smithsburg Route 2, died at 6:50 a.m. Friday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. G. Calvin Shrap, Hagerstown Route 5, with whom she had made her home for the past two and a half years.

Mrs. Davis had been in failing health for eight years, suffering from diabetes, and for the past four and a half years, following a leg amputation, had been confined to her bed.

She was born in Lantz, Md., the daughter of Samuel and Louise (Kline) Pryor. She spent her early life in Lantz and following her marriage she and her husband farmed in the Waynesboro Route 3 area. In 1938 they moved to Smithsburg Route 2, where they farmed.

She was a member of the Wayne Heights Brethren Church.

Her husband, Harvey M. Davis, died in July, 1954.

Surviving are children, Mrs. Boyd V. Wiles, Pen Mar; Omar M. Davis, Smithsburg Route 2; Mrs. Harry B. Shockey, Ringgold; Mrs. D. Eldred Rinehart, Smithsburg Route 2; Lee C. Davis, Smithsburg; Mrs. Charles G. Gift, Waynesboro; Paul K. Davis, Shady Grove, Pa.; and Mrs. G. Calvin Shoop, Hagerstown Route 5; 22 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Stanley M. Pryor, Lantz; half-brothers, Jennings and Earl Pryor, both of Smithsburg; and Raymond Pryor, Waynesboro; and a half-sister, Mrs. George Wolf, Waynesboro.

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the Grove Funeral Home, Waynesboro, conducted by the Rev. N. V. Leatherman. Interment in Harbaugh's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday evening from 7-9.
