Funeral services for Mrs. Marie Lys, 81, of Route 1, Wheelock, will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Hillier Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Wheelock Cemetery. The Rev. C.H. Stutes and Edward Marek of the First Methodist Church. Navasota. will officiate with funeral arrangements by Hillier Funeral Home. Mrs Lys died Wednesday at 3:30 a.m. in Navasota. She was born Dec. 29, 1894. in Fayette County and had been a resident of Brazos County since 1913. She was a housewife, a member of the SPJST Lodge No. 129 of Wheelock, and a member of the First Methodist Church of Normangee. She is survived by three sons, Joe Lys of Bryan, Robert Lys of Navasota and Lee Lys of Rosenburg; three daughters, Mrs. Georgia Apodaca of Los Angeles. Calif., Mrs. Elsie Jones of Greenville, and Mrs. Gladys McCary of Excelsior, Minn.; three sisters, Mrs. Albert Koptesky of Wheelock, Mrs. J.W. Norman of Moultrie, Ge.. and Mrs. Frank Matejka of Hitchcock; a step-sister, Mrs. Ray Sodek of Temple; 14 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Lam Jones, Clarence Matejka, Donald Lys, Bobby Lys. William McCary and Mike Apodaca.
