Celina Rivera, a longtime resident of Nambé, NM, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 27, 2023.
Celina was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Rivera, sons, Toby Rivera and Rudy Rivera and parents, José and Beatrice Vigil.
Celina is survived by her sons, Gilbert Rivera and his wife Elizabeth, Joe Rivera, Richard Rivera and his wife, Martha all of Nambé, NM, Benny Rivera and his wife, Gloria of La Villita, NM and daughter, Judy Hamilton and her husband, Greg of Nambé, NM, granddaughters and grandsons, Laura, Cynthia, Jessica, Alexandra, Gregory, Benjamin, Richard, Ben and William, great-granddaughters and great-grandsons, Angelica, Averi, Alanah, Brielle, Elia, Andrew, Isaiah, Sean, Mason, Link, Milo, Adam and Brian and many nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends.
Celina was full of laughter and joy.
Celina will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Celina touched the lives of so many people across multiple generations. During her time with us, she made a point to always help anyone with whatever she could. Celina met her husband, Benjamin in Nambé, NM and married in 1946, after working in her early years at Los Alamos, NM.
Celina then started her family and stayed home as a housewife and mother. Celina was more than happy to be the central figure in the lives of her children. During her younger days, she loved to entertain and spend time with many wonderful friends.
Celina loved to laugh, share her knowledge and wisdom with many. Most of all she loved her family with all her heart.
Celina was a loving mother, grandmother and sister.
Visitation will begin on Monday, April 10, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. and Rosary commencing at 6:00 p.m. at DeVargas Funeral Home in Española, NM. Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nambé, NM. Burial to follow at Santa Fé National Cemetery, Santa Fé, NM.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Laura García, Cynthia Rivera, Rick Rivera, Andrew Rivera, Alexandra Hamilton and Gregory Hamilton.
